Government Policy on Indigenous People

January 7, 2016

Since Federation (1901) there has never been a successful government policy to address the disadvantage of Indigenous people in Australia. Policies such as Assimilation, Integration, Self Determination, Self-Management and now Reconciliation.

The policies of assimilation and integration were abandoned for its racist implications and the successive policies of Self-Management and Self-determination were never allowed to come to fruition because of Federal party changes in Canberra.

Australia now has 115 years of failed Indigenous Policy, confusion and disruption to both Australian and Indigenous people.

Australian People's Party wants to work with major parties and Indigenous people towards a very deliberate and progressive alliance with the Indigenous peoples of Australia for a culturally equitable and progressive future.
